6/6/12 Wed Orphanage Visit

Today I go to the orphanage which has been Evangeline's home for nearly half her life. This is a very emotional day and I'm not going to post many details as they are for us to share with our little princess as she is ready for these details...
After 2 1/2 hrs in the car we arrive in Baoji where Evangeline was at for the first 8 months of her life as well as the month before we came to bring her home. Baoji is sunny, not smoggy and looks like a nice place to live. A river runs through the city dividing it.
As we entered the beautiful new building there was much commotion because 3 young people had just brought in a 1 1/2 yr old little boy who was found in the same town from where Evangeline is from.

The building is new, nice, brightly colored and on a digital display is a welcome message for our little girl to visit here the last time. However we felt it was better not to bring her back and confuse her plus she was coughing and still has an occasional low grade temp...
The visit there is short and sweet with Mr Bai the Director and another gentleman who I believe to be in charge of the medical care in the orphanage. Both try to help us piece together Evangeline's life in and away from the facility.
We are told that 1 caretaker was solely responsible for rocking our baby all day since returning from Beijing.
The nanny also said she is being changed 3 times during the night, prefers complete darkness, bottles and knows what she wants.
I get to see where Evangeline was playing and sleeping. I was able to take pictures for a friend who is adopting a boy from the same place in a few months.
This pretty much concluded the visit.

Next we went to look for Evangeline's place of discovery about 1 1/2 hrs away, we not only found it but also spoke to the responding police officer...

What a day!!!

While I was gone my sweet little girl and hubby had a daddy daughter day and much fun together!!!
